Hi, I’m Nina Michiko Tam.

I’m a public-interest attorney and Yale Law School graduate working on civil rights, election law, and other issues that affect the most vulnerable in Houston, Texas. I’m also a writer: my debut novel TASTES LIKE SEEING GOD is forthcoming from Pamela Dorman Books/Penguin Random House!

I know that no one needs another newsletter, but if you stick around, I’ll be posting my thoughts on

  • the space where the law meets literature,

  • the path to my debut and

  • the search for balance when writing and working.

I plan on keeping this Substack free and accessible to all readers, even as I move along on my publishing journey! Subscribe, shoot me a message, or leave me a comment—I love to chat.

You can also find me on my website, Instagram or Bluesky.
